Ninety seconds inside the shed — the warp raised, the shuttle thrown, the zari catching the morning light.

MEEYAL works with weaver families across Kanchipuram, Arni and Varanasi. The looms are pit looms; the zari is tested for silver content; the borders are joined by the korvai interlock, thread by thread.
We keep the process slow on purpose. A bridal saree takes about eighteen days. What we change is the finish — the fall, the blouse, the fit of a churidhar — so a heritage weave works in a modern wardrobe.

“My Mangala arrived with the blouse already cut to my measurements. It held its fall through a four-hour ceremony without a single pin at the pleats.”
